About me:
I grew up in New England and graduated from Harvard University cum laude in 1977. After college, I danced professionally in New York City for 10 years, touring the USA with the Mary Anthony Dance Theatre and other companies. After moving to the West Coast in 1987, I shifted to solo voice. I have sung professionally in regional opera and with area symphonies and ensembles. I have taught voice since 1995. Vocal problems ended my professional career, and the things I've learned in my journey to get my voice back have enriched my life and given me many more tools to use in my work! I am a mom of two boys (now in college), and love working with kids and adults.
I became a Certified Provider-BC of The Listening Program® in 2008, and an Associate Practitioner of Integrated Listening Systems in 2009. I am a Certified Practitioner of Learning Ears®. I have taken the Estill Voice Training (Levels 1 & 2) twice! Estill has given me a working understanding of the anatomy & physiology of the voice, and techniques to use in teaching voice in many styles while keeping your voice healthy! I received a Massage Therapist degree in 1984 from The Swedish Institute (New York City), and have extensive experience in injury rehabilitation and work with chronic pain, both in clinic and in private practice. I have taught yoga and back-care classes. I look forward to working with you! |
